You know, some of the decisions in life are quite easy to make. Take your cell phone wherever you go. Pay your taxes? Do your best at school or work? Mow your grass when it gets long? Don’t shave on Saturdays? Some decisions are easy to make? But some decisions aren’t so easy and take lots of effort to make. Who should I marry and spend the rest of my life with? What career should I train for? Where do I send my kids to school? Does God want me to go into the ministry? These are the kinds of decisions that keep us up at night weighing all the options.
Many are in a place of indecision. It is not a low place between two hills. It is an undecided condition of the mind and heart. It is the obstacles and doubts with which the inward person is confronted. The place of indecision is the dwelling place of the undecided. An unpleasant condition of life, an unpredictable state of existence, an uncertain future. It is amazing that a person would live in such a condition. Let those who are tired of such uncertain living arise and declare "enough!" Make up your mind and move out of that place of uncertainty today.
Yes, some of you right now are facing difficult decisions but are finding yourself stuck in indecision. The rest of you will find yourself having to make difficult decisions in the future. It’s just a part of life. The good news is that there’s help for this integral part of life. God is here and His wisdom is in your reach to enable you to decisions that will guide your life to be the best that God has for you. We want and we need to make wise decisions. And wise decisions are born out of our devotion to God, formed by the Word of God, and confirmed by the Spirit of God.

Heavenly Father, the Word of God is very clear on asking for Wisdom, true wisdom comes from God. Jesus declared in His Word, if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. So we come boldly to the throne of grace through the precious Blood of Jesus Christ and ask for wisdom, and we lean on Your promise to us is that our Heavenly Father will give it to me!
We praise you for being the decision-making-God. It’s not our decisions, but yours that make all the difference. We will plan, but we trust you to order our steps. We will seek counsel, but count on you to overrule any contrary input from our most trusted friends and advisors. We will search the Scriptures, looking for revelation, Father. All we want and need is you.
Free us from the paralysis of analysis of wanting to make the right decision, more than we want to be righteous people; wanting to be known as wise people, more than we want to know you. Free us from making decisions primary for our comfort and other’s approval, or fear of their disapproval. Free us to know that good choices don’t always lead to the easiest outcomes. Free us from second and third guessing our decisions. Father, no matter if its wisdom about buying or selling, vocation or vacation, this place or that place, this person or that person, we know that in all things, your will is what's best for us.
Dear God, make us more and more like Jesus, as we trust you for the opening and closing of doors that are in front of us. Heavenly Father, Your wisdom and knowledge fills us with joy, because the gain of it is better than fine gold. By wisdom You founded the earth, and by knowledge You established the heavens according to Proverbs 3:13-20. Christ Jesus, we thank You that our eyes of Your understanding are continually being enlightened; that I we may know Your calling, and the riches of Your glory and Your inheritance for Your saints. We thank You for Your exceeding greatness and we believe, trust and rely on You only. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen!
